Stockpile Mod is a mod that aims to cater to all of your storage needs. It adds special Barrels for mass storage of items (and soon fluids), a stylish Barrel Hat for interacting with those barrels on the go, and a Trash Can for all of your trashy desires.
Documentation:
Barrel
The Barrel is a simple mass storage container, inspired by the implementations in RedPower/JABBA/YABBA/Storage Drawers/etc. By default, barrels hold 32 stacks of a single item.
In the World
- When you first place down a barrel, you need to right-click it with an item. This sets the stored item of the barrel. Before an item is set, a barrel won’t accept items from hoppers or any other item transfer methods.
- Right-clicking a barrel will insert the stack you’re holding. Right-clicking again will insert as many stacks as possible from your inventory. Left-clicking the front of a barrel will extract a single item, and shift-left-clicking the front will extract an entire stack.
- Shift-right-clicking a barrel will toggle its lock state. An unlocked barrel will accept any item when empty, while a locked barrel will only ever accept its current item. Unlocked barrels are marked with an asterisk.
- When a barrel is full, its display number will turn yellow. As of version 0.2.0, a bar indicating how full the barrel is is displayed behind the number. When broken, barrels retain their contents.
- If an empty barrel is broken, its item isn’t remembered and can be set again once placed.
- Barrels can be upgraded with the various upgrade items Stockpile adds. To apply an upgrade, right-click with it on a barrel.
As an Item
When broken, barrels retain their contents. A barrel can be combined with chests in an anvil to increase its storage space. Each chest adds 29 additional stacks of capacity to a barrel. Up to an entire stack of chests can be applied at once.
If an empty barrel is broken, its item isn’t remembered and can be set again once placed.
A barrel’s maximum capacity is currently 16,777,216 stacks, in case you somehow end up needing that.
Recipe
Trash Can
The trash can provides a simple, safe way to destroy items.
- A hopper can be used to insert items into a trash can and immediately delete them.
- Right-clicking a trash can opens its lid. When a trash can is open, items thrown in the top are deleted.
