EsvDefcon’s Skyline Mod 1.7.10

EsvDefcon’s Skyline Mod let you fly your cool builds around by using nothing except a Ship’s Helm, and some balloons. It’s really straightforward. Take a look at the images on the mod page to see the crafting recipes.

EsvDefcon said:
“So, me and a couple of other programmers decided to try to recreate some of our favourite mods, and improve upon them if possible. One of my all-time favourite mods was The Airship Mod, way back in Minecraft 1.2.5! So, of course, I just had to try to make a new version of it!

Therefore, this mod is heavily inspired by existing mods, as our aim was to recreate mods which we like. You WILL notice lots of similarities between this and other mod, but it was built up on entirely new code. Just to clear that up. 🙂

Information:

I decided that I wouldn’t make it as resource-intensive as some of the existing ones, so I basically planned on adding in a control block (I based this mod off other mods, so you’ll notice some similarities), which turns any creation into an airship. I added in balloon blocks (just wool blocks, basically, but they give your contraption “lift”), as well. The GUI has a few buttons to let you register your craft (I had to make it so that you register a new craft, before you can control it, or it messes up sometimes), and then take the helm. For anyone who know a thing or two about Minecraft modding, this mod essentially just turns your builds into a new entity, which you can then mounts, and pilot. It’s a pretty simple concept, but it’s a s**t ton of fun to shoot arrows at zombies from 20ft in the air! As for the other features, I based the GUI on a ship’s log, which gives you some important information about your current vessel. I’ll probably add more information in the future, but at the minute you can rename your ship (and see it’s name, of course), see how many blocks it has, how many balloons it has, it’s passenger capacity (how many beds it has), the Captain’s (your) name, and some other nice little pieces of information. You can also see more of you ship’s stats by using the commands provided by the mod (see the “Commands” section). “
