The new look horses were given in The Update Aquatic (Minecraft 1.13) simply put is a big step backwards from DrZhark’s beautiful model we’ve been enjoying ever since horses where added in 2013. So let’s bring the old model back with Familiar Horses Mod!
Features:
This mod restores the beautiful and very detailed model every type of horse was using before The Update Aquatic (Minecraft 1.13) came around to simplify things. Therefor this mod changes the models for the following mobs:
- Horses
- Donkeys
- Mules
- Skeleton Horses
- Zombie Horses
Horse armor is reverted as well. As there was no leather horse armor before the horse model was overhauled the old texture from Minecraft Pocket Edition is used.

How to install:
- Make sure you have already installed Minecraft Forge.
- Locate the minecraft application folder.
- On windows open Run from the start menu, type %appdata% and click Run.
- On mac open finder, hold down ALT and click Go then Library in the top menu bar. Open the folder Application Support and look for Minecraft.
- Place the mod you have just downloaded (.jar file) into the Mods folder.
- When you launch Minecraft and click the mods button you should now see the mod is installed.
